The Government of Edo State made significant attempt at budget credibility during the 2021 fiscal year. This is evidenced as the State reached 82.7% performance of the N187.6bn it voted to spend.
However, significant part of that spending was made on recurrent items which was 64.8%. Curiously, 39.4% of the total expenditure went for overhead cost.
Capital projects received 35.2% of the expenses for the year.
