Ondo State performed above average on budget credibility in 2021 fiscal year. Out of N174.9bn voted as expenditure for the year, the State reached 73.5% performance by spending N128.46bn.
To spend a paltry N35.50bn on capital projects for the fiscal year, which is only 27.6% of the total expenditure for the year leaves a big question on what really is Ondo State Government priority.
Is it recurrent items or capital projects? Nevertheless, it is commendable that the government of Ondo State is reducing spending on overhead cost. Overhead had the least spending for the year.
This is better in comparison to other Niger Delta States.
